Dog Training: 7 Quick Tips For Successful Group Walks
Group walks are an excellent way to get exercise and meet new people.
Here are 7 quick tips for a successful group walk:
1. Choose a route with good scenery and plenty of safe spots to take breaks. There is nothing more boring than walking on the same route for 30 minutes, so make sure your walk covers a wide range of sights and landscapes.
2. Carry water bottles rather than relying on convenience store purchases. It's better not to drink out of plastic bottles anyway, , so make sure to bring your own.
3. Prepare for unexpected occurrences by keeping a small first-aid kit in your backpack. Pack a few Band Aids, antibiotic ointment, and anti-itch cream in case of blisters or insect bites - no matter how unlikely you think the possibilities may be
4. Bring snacks! Every ten minutes of walking should be followed by five minutes of rest.
5. Bring a hat and sunglasses. If you don't want to carry them, put them in your backpack along with your other supplies
6. Consider what weather conditions you'll be experiencing during the hike and pack appropriately
7. Check the weather forecast before starting and make sure you have appropriate clothing or rain gear .
Remember that when you’re trail running, your feet are the foundation for your body and will take a lot of abuse. Wear proper shoes with good support, and carry extra socks to keep them dry.
If your shoes get really sweaty, you can use a shoe dryer to avoid blisters. Just make sure you’re not using it while it’s plugged in!If you run on trails, protect your feet with gaiters or other running socks. Inseams of gaiters should be about calf height for best performance .
